Dr. Greg MacKenzie

Dr. MacKenzie is a native of Saint John, New Brunswick. He studied biology at Dalhousie University from 1981 to 1984 and graduated from Dalhousie Dental School in 1988. He practiced dentistry in Kingston, Ontario, until 1990 and has practiced dentistry in Halifax since.

Dr. MacKenzie is a member of the: Canadian Dental Association, Faculté for Orthodontic Research and Continuing Education Study Club, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, International Congress of Oral Implantologists (Fellowship Status), and the International Team for Implantology (ITI). He was in the Canadian International Straight Wire Orthodontic Study Club from 1999 to 2004.

Dr. MacKenzie has taken several CEREC continuing education programs including: Basic Training-University of Michigan School of Dentistry; Posterior Restorative Course-Dentistry by Design, San Diego: and the Integration Course –Great Lakes Education Center, Detroit. Other continuing education includes: Advanced Functional Esthetics-Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies; Level II Laser Certification-Institute for Laser Dentistry, Montreal; Comprehensive Orthodontic Course- Faculté for Orthodontic Research and Continuing Education. Toronto; Hands-on Surgical Implant Course –Dalhousie University; Functional Occlusion and from TMJ to Smile Design; and Comprehensive Examination and Record Taking, Dawson Academy, St. Petersburg, Florida; and The NYU College of Dentistry Implant Continuum-Fundamentals and Advances in Contemporary Surgical and Prosthetic Dentistry.

Dr. MacKenzie has wide interests. He completed the Canadian Securities Course (Honours) at the Canadian Securities Institute in 2001. He has been a member of the Masonic Lodge since 1995. He has been a Bedford Minor Hockey coach and a member of the Tridents Navy Triathlon Team, having completed several Sprint and Olympic distance triathlons in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Quebec. Dr. MacKenzie, father of a daughter and three sons, serves on the Board of Directors at Newbridge Academy. He is a member of The Nova Scotia Off Road Riders Association, and enjoys downhill skiing, dirt-biking with his sons, and playing jazz/blues guitar.
